Julian Archard
I head up Tanner’s Property Department. I work with an international client base buying and selling prime and super prime properties in London and the country. I have worked both as a property lawyer and estate agent in England and in France for over 30 years. I bring together legal knowledge and transaction experience to make a deal happen as smoothly and as painlessly as possible.
After reading Land Management at Reading University, and gaining my legal qualifications at Westminster University, I started my law career working for city law firm Nabarros before moving to Charles Russell in Cheltenham. I then took a sabbatical from the law to run my own estate agency in the Loire Valley, France before coming back to the UK to sell Cotswold country houses for Savills and then joining Tanners as a partner
I divide my time between London and the Cotswolds to ensure that I am on hand to provide face to face assistance for my clients, assistance which often extends far beyond that of conveyancing, just because of my experience, and I am told, my character. Some of my clients are French and being fluent in French certainly helps in those transactions.
When not in one of our offices, I am usually to be found reading a book (probably by Dick Francis or Wilbur Smith), in a pub or on a flight to or from the Loire valley where I still have family and many friends, as well as a small share in a little vineyard.
I also have the privilege of holding the ancient position of Undersheriff of Gloucestershire and the City of Gloucester.
