As far as wills are concerned, it is vital to cover all contingencies. We, therefore, spend time with clients learning about family circumstances, assets and wishes before advising on the most suitable documents designed to last! We will also advise on whether, and if so how, inheritance tax can be saved for the benefit of subsequent generations or charity beneficiaries.
In addition to wills, we advise all our clients to make lasting powers of attorney (“LPAs”) to enable others to look after their affairs and make financial and welfare decisions on their behalf should they become incapable of making such decisions for themselves for whatever reason. We can also advise attorneys about registering enduring or lasting powers of attorney for others and acting under them.
Lastly, many of our clients are now choosing to make living wills, which enable them to record their end of life treatment wishes and views on organ donation and leaving their bodies for medical research.
