PartnerWhen forming this firm in 1986 I had enjoyed the benefit of legal practice in some very different environments, rural and city, private practice and as a commercial in-house lawyer with a large but fresh minded national company. I wanted to bring the best of those very different cultures together to create a legal environment founded on traditional values which could also embrace all of the advantages of modern technology and the more effective communication that modern society demands.
I am a property lawyer with a keen understanding of the need to recognise the commercial elements of a transaction, a lesson well learned during my time outside private practice. Whilst much of my own practice is in high end residential property locally and in London, I undertake as well a range of development and planning work for a diverse collection of clients. I also often support my commercial partner, Peter Marrow, on the property elements within his corporate and business work.
I value enormously the opportunity working here has given me to be part of a vibrant local community and it has been an honour to act as Under Sheriff for Gloucestershire and the City of Gloucester since March 2011.
Away from the office I am delighted to provide rather unskilled support to my wife’s garden business and largely ignored advice to my three grown up children. A healthy diet of good food, good wine and good company adds a great deal to life too.
